The Credit Valley Railway company having placed a car at the disposalA
of the Ingersoll corporation the Council kindly asked us to accompanyB
them to Toronto a short time after the opening of the roadC
-
Whene'er we take a tour abroadD
We love to travel o'er new roadC
Where scenery to us is newE
And landscape pleasing to the viewE
When invited for to rallyB
And take a trip on Credit ValleyB
We resolved for to affordF
A day with Council and School BoardF
For to view the rural charmsG
Of hills and dales and fertile farmsG
With joy we saw the sunbeams gleamH
On Grand River beauteous streamH
And those perpendicular wallsI
Of rock like old baronial hallsI
We saw the great lake ebb and flowJ
And Queen City of OntarioJ
While some enjoyed the genial smileK
Of Hanlon on his lake girt isleK
Returning home each one exclaimsL
'Happiest spot is banks of Thames '-
