Lines On Thamesford Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AB CCDD EEFF GGHI

Delivered at Masonic concert Thamesford Grand MasterA
Col Moffat in the chairB
-
The middle branch of Thames doth flowC
O'er pebble bed and it doth glowC
And sparkle like silver in the sunD
As it through pasture lands doth runD
-
In dam is ample water storedE
To drive flour mills in ThamesfordE
Besides the power of the streamF
Saw mills and flax are drove by steamF
-
Our mind it doth with pleasure fillG
To see fine brick church on each hillG
And that substantial one of stoneH
Owned by congregation of St JohnI
