DeArcy McGeeA
All compliment theeA
The hope of the landB
On your lecture so grandB
-
Though that is your fortC
Oh give us the sportC
Of an hour of your chatD
Then we'll laugh and grow fatD
-
For none but the vileE
Could e'er cease to smileE
When near to theeA
So brilliant and freeA
-
Plant of Green Erin's isleE
Long in Canadian soilF
May you take deep rootG
And bear much noble fruitG
-
Our hopes were in vainH
Alas he is slainH
By a crankish handB
The flower of the landB
