Lines On London Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABCDE FFGGHH IIIIJJ

They once in wilderness did rideA
On beast with horn and shaggy hideA
A savage goat or unicornB
But now parade in uniformC
As gay as ancient Knight or LordD
With their grand plumes and belt and swordsE
-
Their graceful movements at their drillF
Doth all with admiration fillF
And the chief glory it was wonG
By the encampment of LondonG
For they at every tournamentH
For drill are the chief ornamentH
-
So skillfully they sword do wieldI
Victorious on every fieldI
For victory's graven on their shieldI
Doth make their rivals for to yieldI
Drill companies they out maneuverJ
From Newfoundland to VancouverJ
