Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDEFFGHIIOf Beachville village of the plain | A |
We now will sing a short refrain | A |
For here the Thames doth pleasant flow | B |
And charms to landscape doth bestow | B |
Though river here it is not deep | C |
Yet banks slope graceful up the steep | C |
And from the summit of the hills | D |
You look down on the famed lime kilns | E |
And 'tis full worthy poets rhyme | F |
The whiteness of thy pure fine lime | F |
Your glory never shall be gone | G |
While you have quarries of this stone | H |
In influence you yet will wax | I |
With mills for flour and also flax | I |
