Dryden And Pope Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBBBBBCC DDBBAA

Of our Laureate we now do singA
His youthful muse had daring wingA
He then despised BaronhoodB
And sang 'twas noble to be goodB
None sang like him of knights of oldB
He England's glory did upholdB
In wondrous song he hath arrayedB
Glorious charge of light brigadeB
And he hath the people's benisonC
Greatest of living poets TennysonC
-
Genius of Dryden and of PopeD
Both did take a mighty scopeD
The first he Virgil did translateB
The second showed us Troy's fateB
On English themes they loved to singA
And high their muses flight did wingA
