Therefore we think for that reason | E |

Then cows do feed on grassy field | G |
And rich milk they abundant yield | G |

Ontario cannot compete | H |
With the Northwest in raising wheat | H |
For cheaper there they it can grow | I |
So price in future may be low | I |

Though this a hardship it may seem | J |
Rejoice that you have got the cream | J |
In this land of milk and honey | K |
Where dairy farmers do make money | K |

Utensils must be clean and sweet | H |
So cheese with first class can compete | H |
And daily polish up milk pans | L |
Take pains with vats and with milk cans | L |

To allow no stagnant water | B |
But water from pure well or stream | J |
The cow must drink to give pure cream | J |

Canadian breeds 'tis best to pair | M |
With breeds from the shire of Ayr | N |
They thrive on our Canadian feed | O |
And are for milking splendid breed | O |

Though 'gainst spring cheese some do mutter | B |
Yet spring milk also makes bad butter | B |
Then there doth arise the query | K |
How to utilize it in the dairy | K |

The milk it floats in great spring flood | P |
Though it is not so rich and good | Q |
Let us be thankful for this stream | J |
Of milk and also curds and cream | J |

Should be to make the vale of Thames | S |
