Corner Stone Laying Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A BBCCDDEE FGHHIIJJ

The following lines were read at the festival after the stone had been laid by Grand Master Col Moffat of a church on the Culloden road with Masonic honorsA
-
-
In this quiet spot this day of JuneB
Which will not be forgotten soonB
For when your little church on hillC
You overflowingly did fillC
You then resolved there should ariseD
Church worthy of your enterpriseD
You've laid foundation broad and deepE
And showers of blessings may you reapE
-
Craft of King Hiram and Saint JohnF
Have come to lay the corner stoneG
At the call of our Grand MasterH
Who was invited by your pastorH
With silver trowel all so fairI
He laid foundation on the squareI
May you be blessed with Christian loveJ
And we all meet in Lodge aboveJ
