Coon Hunting Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCCC DDEEFFGG

Canadians oft by light of moonA
Love to go a hunting coonA
But this our tale it is no yarnB
While chopping down tree Henry KarnB
Found therein a hollow chamberC
Full of coons who there did clamberC
It made them a home superiorC
Warm and snug in the interiorC
-
And he did count therein elevenD
Who long had found it a safe havenD
But it is sad to read their fateE
For out of them he slaughtered eightE
But trouble to him now occursF
What shall he do with those fine fursF
Shall he grand overcoat displayG
Or make them into robe for sleighG
