Campbells Block Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABB CCDD EEFF EEGG HIJJ KKLL

You may look but look in vainA
For stores with such immense paneA
All other shops they do surpassB
With their enormous lights of glassB
-
One night by chance through them we gazedC
But we did quickly stand amazedC
Three moons they did beauteous glowD
And gleams so lovely they did throwD
-
But a still more wond'rous storyE
Mid day showed three suns in gloryE
At the sight we scarce could gazeF
So full of brilliancy the raysF
-
We had to curtain off the gloryE
If you don't believe this wondrous storyE
Ask Editon of the TribuneG
About this tale of sun and moonG
-
Which did bewilder McIntyreH
Gazing on mighty orbs of fireI
Eclipsing the electric lightJ
So brilliant in their glorious mightJ
-
Luminaries no more invadeK
Excluded now by window shadeK
Pray think that this if no intrusionL
This tale of optical illusionL
