Bird Sent By Providence Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABB CCDD EFDD DDGH

A poor man stood beside his doorA
His sad fate for to deploreA
For landlord's heart would not relentB
And seized his furniture for rentB
-
He hears song sweet as from fairyC
And soon he sees a canaryC
Into his cage it did alightD
And poured forth notes sweet and brightD
-
But owner of the bird did mournE
And sadly longed for its returnF
Without it she found no delightD
So she did landlord's bill requiteD
-
The poor man thinks the bird was sentD
By the Lord to pay up his rentD
And he now stout maintains from thenceG
That there is a kind ProvidenceH
