The following was composed and read at a gathering in the newA
Parsonage Salford in the fallB

The farmers are in cheerful moodC
For harvest all it hath been goodD
And all the grain was sown this springE
An abundant yield will bringE

And you can scarcely stow awayF
The yield of barley oats and hayF
Such pasture it is seldom seenG
E'en now it is so fresh and greenG

This beauteous color nature decksH
While it insures you large milk checques sicI
And certes you've much cause to praiseJ
For hogs and cattle that you raiseJ
