A Bird's Nest Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCC DDEE FFGG AAFF

An old man who had charge of fieldA
With pride he saw two birds did buildB
A broad capacious warm nestC
Soon full of young with speckled breastC
-
And when the old man there did passD
They soon ran merry 'mong the grassD
But of the youth they were so shyE
They made strong efforts for to flyE
-
Youths tried with old man to prevailF
To let them blaze away at quailF
But though they longed for a fat potG
At them they never got a shotG
-
No more the old man doth them shieldA
For they have flown to broader fieldA
Long may they spread their wings and tailF
And may no foe them 'ere assailF
