Tell her my love thou dark bird ominous | N |
Give her my heart no bloodless heart and vile | L |
But red compact and strong O raven Thus | N |

Now let my life from twenty deep wounds flow | L |
And wolves may drink the blood My time is done | O |
Young brave and spotless I rejoice to go | L |
And sit where all the Gods are in the sun | O |

Danielle de Pazzis : One of my favorite poems and also loved by my students. We always read it in French. This is the first adaptation that gives it credit. I have read many ...always heavy handed and pompous. This is the first one I really like. Really well done.
Danielle de Pazzis : I taught this poem in French for many years. I like your adaptation unlike so many stilted riming flops....yours is natural and lyrical. Great job
