Time Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCD EFBGH IJKE

I'm counting the days to hold you closeA
some days take to long to endB
staring through the window wishing I could hold your handC
kiss your lips hug you for just five minutes would be fineD
-
I hear the clock ticking or has it stopped I'm countingE
thinking memories I have won't end if only I could see your smileF
once would be sublime waiting waiting for the night to endB
A day closer will the phone ring or will it be just another callG
quickly think what to say I love youH
-
Let me listen to your voice to me stories send me picturesI
Help the days go fast I can't wait if only I could look into your eyesJ
for a brief moment I could feel your love running through my whole bodyK
Only five days I'm still countingE

Collin Andrew Sherriff: This resonated with me immensely. I myself am in a state of melancholy limbo where I am longing to see someone, and time just takes its, well, time.
