Outside Fargo, North Dakota Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABC DEF GHIBJ

Along the sprawled body of the derailed Great Northern freight carA
I strike a match slowly and lift it slowlyB
No windC
-
Beyond town three heavy white horsesD
Wade all the way to their shouldersE
In a silo shadowF
-
Suddenly the freight car lurchesG
The door slams back a man with a flashlightH
Calls me good eveningI
I nod as I write good evening lonelyB
And sick for homeJ
