A Blessing Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGHDIGJDKFLMNOP QRI

Just off the highway to Rochester MinnesotaA
Twilight bounds softly forth on the grassB
And the eyes of those two Indian poniesC
Darken with kindnessD
They have come gladly out of the willowsE
To welcome my friend and meF
We step over the barbed wire into the pastureG
Where they have been grazing all day aloneH
They ripple tensely they can hardly contain their happinessD
That we have comeI
They bow shyly as wet swans They love each otherG
There is no loneliness like theirsJ
At home once more they begin munching the young tufts of spring in the darknessD
I would like to hold the slenderer one in my armsK
For she has walked over to meF
And nuzzled my left handL
She is black and whiteM
Her mane falls wild on her foreheadN
And the light breeze moves me to caress her long earO
That is delicate as the skin over a girl's wristP
Suddenly I realizeQ
That if I stepped out of my body I would breakR
Into blossomI
