Psalm Xix: The Heavens Declare Thy Glory, Lord Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEFG HIGI JKJK LDLD

The heavens declare thy glory LordA
In every star thy wisdom shinesB
But when our eyes behold thy wordC
We read thy name in fairer linesB
-
The rolling sun the changing lightD
And night and day thy power confessE
But the blest volume thou hast writF
Reveals thy justice and thy graceG
-
Sun moon and stars convey thy praiseH
Round the whole earth and never standI
So when thy truth began its raceG
It touched and glanced on every landI
-
Nor shall thy spreading gospel restJ
Till through the world thy truth has runK
Till Christ has all the nations blestJ
That see the light or feel the sunK
-
Great Sun of righteousness ariseL
Bless the dark world with heavenly lightD
Thy gospel makes the simple wiseL
Thy laws are pure thy judgments rightD
