Psalm Iii: My God, How Many Are My Fears Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEFE GHIH JKLF MNON PQRL OSTS UVKV

My God how many are my fearsA
How fast my foes increaseB
Conspiring my eternal deathC
They break my present peaceB
-
The lying tempter would persuadeD
There's no relief from heavenE
And all my swelling sins appearF
Too big to be forgivenE
-
But thou my glory and my strengthG
Shall on the tempter treadH
Shall silence all my threat'ning guiltI
And raise my drooping headH
-
I cried and from his holy hillJ
He bowed a list'ning earK
I called my Father and my GodL
And He subdued my fearF
-
He shed soft slumbers on mine eyesM
In spite of all my foesN
I woke and wondered at the graceO
That guarded my reposeN
-
What through the hosts of death and hellP
All armed against me stoodQ
Terrors no more shall shake my soulR
My refuge is my GodL
-
Arise O Lord fulfill thy graceO
While I thy glory singS
My God has broke the serpent's teethT
And death has lost his stingS
-
Salvation to the Lord belongsU
His arm alone can saveV
Blessings attend thy people hereK
And reach beyond the graveV
