Psalm Ii: Why Did The Nations Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAC DEDF BGHG IJIJ KLKM HNHN

Why did the nations join to slayA
The Lord's anointed SonB
Why did they cast His laws awayA
And tread His gospel downC
-
The Lord that sits above the skiesD
Derides their rage belowE
He speaks with vengeance in His eyesD
And strikes their spirits throughF
-
I call Him My Eternal SonB
And raise Him from the deadG
I make My holy hill His throneH
And wide His Kingdom spreadG
-
Ask me My Son and then enjoyI
The utmost heathen landsJ
Thy rod of iron shall destroyI
The rebel that withstandsJ
-
Be wise ye rulers of the earthK
Obey the anointed LordL
Adore the King of Heav'nly birthK
And tremble at His wordM
-
With humble love address his throneH
For if He frown you dieN
Those are secure and those aloneH
Who on His grace relyN
