Christ's incarnation and the last judgmentC
-
Ye islands of the northern seaA
Rejoice the Savior reignsD
His word like fire prepares his wayE
And mountains melt to plainsD
-
His presence sinks the proudest hillsF
And makes the valleys riseG
The humble soul enjoys his smilesH
The haughty sinner diesG
-
The heav'ns his rightful power proclaimI
The idol gods aroundJ
Fill their own worshippers with shameI
And totter to the groundJ
-
Adoring angels at his birthK
Make the Redeemer knownL
Thus shall he come to judge the earthK
And angels guard his throneL
-
His foes shall tremble at his sightM
And hills and seas retireN
His children take their unknown flightM
And leave the world in fireO
-
The seeds of joy and glory sownL
For saints in darkness hereP
Shall rise and spring in worlds unknownL
And a rich harvest bearQ
