God our support and comfortC
-
Who will arise and plead my rightD
Against my num'rous foesE
While earth and hell their force uniteD
And all my hopes opposeE
-
Had not the Lord my rock my helpF
Sustained my fainting headG
My life had now in silence dweltH
My soul amongst the deadG
-
Alas my sliding feet I criedI
Thy promise was my propJ
Thy grace stood constant by my sideI
Thy Spirit bore me upK
-
While multitudes of mournful thoughtsL
Within my bosom rollM
Thy boundless love forgives my faultsN
Thy comforts cheer my soulM
-
Powers of iniquity may riseO
And frame pernicious lawsP
But God my refuge rules the skiesO
He will defend my causeQ
-
Let malice vent her rage aloudR
Let bold blasphemers scoffS
The Lord our God shall judge the proudR
And cut the sinners offS
