The covenant made with Christ or The true DavidA
-
For ever shall my song recordB
The truth and mercy of the LordB
Mercy and truth for ever standC
Like heav'n established by his handC
-
Thus to his Son he sware and saidD
With thee my cov'nant first is madeE
In thee shall dying sinners liveF
Glory and grace are thine to giveG
-
Be thou my Prophet thou my PriestH
Thy children shall be ever blestI
Thou art my chosen King thy throneJ
Shall stand eternal like my ownJ
-
There's none of all my sons aboveK
So much my image or my loveK
Celestial powers thy subjects areL
Then what can earth to thee compareM
-
David my servant whom I choseN
To guard my flock to crush my foesN
And raised him to the Jewish throneJ
Was but a shadow of my SonO
-
Now let the church rejoice and singP
Jesus her Savior and her KingP
Angels his heav'nly wonders showQ
And saints declare his works belowQ
