Mortality and hope A funeral psalmC
-
Remember Lord our mortal stateD
How frail our life how short the dateD
Where is the man that draws his breathE
Safe from disease secure from death'E
-
Lord while we see whole nations dieF
Our flesh and sense repine and cryF
Must death for ever rage and reignG
Or hast thou made mankind in vainG
-
Where is thy promise to the justH
Are not thy servants turned to dustH
But faith forbids these mournful sighsI
And sees the sleeping dust ariseI
-
That glorious hour that dreadful dayJ
Wipes the reproach of saints awayJ
And clears the honor of thy wordK
Awake our souls and bless the LordL
