Psalm 83 Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A BCDC EFGF HIJI BCKC JLML NOPO QRLR STUQ

A complaint against persecutorsA
-
And will the God of graceB
Perpetual silence keepC
The God of justice hold his peaceD
And let his vengeance sleepC
-
Behold what cursed snaresE
The men of mischief spreadF
The men that hate thy saints and theeG
Lift up their threat'ning headF
-
Against thy hidden onesH
Their counsels they employI
And malice with her watchful eyeJ
Pursues them to destroyI
-
The noble and the baseB
Into thy pastures leapC
The lion and the stupid assK
Conspire to vex thy sheepC
-
Come let us join they cryJ
To root them from the groundL
Till not the name of saints remainM
Nor mem'ry shall be foundL
-
Awake Almighty GodN
And call thy wrath to mindO
Give them like forests to the fireP
Or stubble to the windO
-
Convince their madness LordQ
And make them seek thy nameR
Or else their stubborn rage confoundL
That they may die in shameR
-
Then shall the nations knowS
That glorious dreadful wordT
Jehovah is thy name aloneU
And thou the sovereign LordQ
