Psalm 8 Part 1 Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABC DADA EFEF GAGA HIHI JKLK

v paraphrasedA
L MB
The hosanna of childrenC
-
Almighty Ruler of the skiesD
Through the wide earth thy name is spreadA
And thine eternal glories riseD
O'er all the heav'ns thy hands have madeA
-
To thee the voices of the youngE
A monument of honor raiseF
And babes with uninstructed tongueE
Declare the wonders of thy praiseF
-
Thy power assists their tender ageG
To bring proud rebels to the groundA
To still the bold blasphemer's rageG
And all their policies confoundA
-
Children amidst thy temple throngH
To see their great Redeemer's faceI
The Son of David is their songH
And young hosannas fill the placeI
-
The frowning scribes and angry priestsJ
In vain their impious cavils bringK
Revenge sits silent in their breastsL
While Jewish babes proclaim their KingK
