God our portion here and hereafterD
-
God my supporter and my hopeE
My help for ever nearF
Thine arm of mercy held me upG
When sinking in despairH
-
Thy counsels Lord shall guide my feetI
Through this dark wildernessJ
Thine hand conduct me near thy seatI
To dwell before thy faceK
-
Were I in heav'n without my GodL
'Twould be no joy to meB
And whilst this earth is my abodeM
I long for none but theeB
-
What if the springs of life were brokeN
And flesh and heart should faintO
God is my soul's eternal rockP
The strength of every saintO
-
Behold the sinners that removeQ
Far from thy presence dieR
Not all the idol gods they loveS
Can save them when they cryR
-
But to draw near to thee my GodL
Shall be my sweet employT
My tongue shall sound thy works abroadU
And tell the world my joyT
