Rhyme Scheme: A BCDC EFGF HIJK LMNM OJPJ QARA STSU

The nation's prosperity and the church's increaseA
-
Shine mighty God on Britain shineB
With beams of heav'nly graceC
Reveal thy power through all our coastsD
And show thy smiling faceC
-
Amidst our isle exalted highE
Do thou our glory standF
And like a wall of guardian fireG
Surround the fav'rite landF
-
When shall thy name from shore to shoreH
Sound all the earth abroadI
And distant nations know and loveJ
Their Savior and their GodK
-
Sing to the Lord ye distant landsL
Sing loud with solemn voiceM
While British tongues exalt his praiseN
And British hearts rejoiceM
-
He the great Lord the sovereign JudgeO
That sits enthroned aboveJ
Wisely commands the worlds he madeP
In justice and in loveJ
-
Earth shall obey her Maker's willQ
And yield a full increaseA
Our God will crown his chosen isleR
With fruitfulness and peaceA
-
God the Redeemer scatters roundS
His choicest favors hereT
While the creation's utmost boundS
Shall see adore and fearU
