Psalm 6 Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A BCBD EFEF GHIH JKJK LMNM OPQP

Complaint in sicknessA
-
In anger Lord rebuke me notB
Withdraw the dreadful stormC
Nor let thy fury grow so hotB
Against a feeble wormD
-
My soul's bowed down with heavy caresE
My flesh with pain oppressedF
My couch is witness to my tearsE
My tears forbid my restF
-
Sorrow and pain wear out my daysG
I waste the night with criesH
Counting the minutes as they passI
Till the slow morning riseH
-
Shall I be still tormented moreJ
Mine eye consumed with griefK
How long my God how long beforeJ
Thine hand afford reliefK
-
He hears when dust and ashes speakL
He pities all our groansM
He saves us for his mercy's sakeN
And heals our broken bonesM
-
The virtue of his sovereign wordO
Restores our fainting breathP
For silent graves praise not the LordQ
Nor is he known in deathP
