Deliverance from oppression and falsehoodA
-
O Thou whose justice reigns on highB
And makes th' oppressor ceaseC
Behold how envious sinners tryB
To vex and break my peaceC
-
The sons of violence and liesD
Join to devour me LordE
But as my hourly dangers riseD
My refuge is thy wordF
-
In God most holy just and trueG
I have reposed my trustH
Nor will I fear what flesh can doG
The offspring of the dustH
-
They wrest my words to mischief stillI
Charge me with unknown faultsJ
Mischief doth all their counsels fillI
And malice all their thoughtsK
-
Shall they escape without thy frownL
Must their devices standM
O cast the haughty sinner downL
And let him know thy handM
-
PAUSEN
-
God counts the sorrows of his saintsO
Their groans affect his earsP
Thou hast a book for my complaintsO
A bottle for my tearsQ
-
When to thy throne I raise my cryB
The wicked fear and fleeR
So swift is prayer to reach the skyB
So near is God to meR
-
In thee most holy just and trueG
I have reposed my trustH
Nor will I fear what man can doG
The offspring of the dustH
-
Thy solemn vows are on me LordE
Thou shalt receive my praiseS
I'll sing How faithful is thy wordF
How righteous all thy waysS
-
Thou hast secured my soul from deathT
O set thy pris'ner freeR
That heart and hand and life and breathT
May be employ'd for theeR
