Psalm 46 Part 2 Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A BCBC DEDE FGFG HIJI KLML NONO

God fights for his churchA
-
Let Zion in her King rejoiceB
Though tyrants rage and kingdoms riseC
He utters his almighty voiceB
The nations melt the tumult diesC
-
The Lord of old for Jacob foughtD
And Jacob's God is still our aidE
Behold the works his hand has wroughtD
What desolations he has madeE
-
From sea to sea through all the shoresF
He makes the noise of battle ceaseG
When from on high his thunder roarsF
He awes the trembling world to peaceG
-
He breaks the bow he cuts the spearH
Chariots he burns with heav'nly flameI
Keep silence all the earth and hearJ
The sound and glory of his nameI
-
Be still and learn that I am GodK
I'll be exalted o'er the landsL
I will be known and feared abroadM
But still my throne in Zion standsL
-
O Lord of hosts Almighty KingN
While we so near thy presence dwellO
Our faith shall sit secure and singN
Defiance to the gates of hellO
