C MB
A song of deliverance from great distressC
-
I waited patient for the LordD
He bowed to hear my cryE
He saw me resting on his wordF
And brought salvation nighE
-
He raised me from a horrid pitG
Where mourning long I layH
And from my bonds released my feetI
Deep bonds of miry clayH
-
Firm on a rock he made me standJ
And taught my cheerful tongueK
To praise the wonders of his handJ
In a new thankful songL
-
I'll spread his works of grace abroadM
The saints with joy shall hearN
And sinners learn to make my GodO
Their only hope and fearP
-
How many are thy thoughts of loveQ
Thy mercies Lord how greatR
We have not words nor hours enoughS
Their numbers to repeatI
-
When I 'm afflicted poor and lowT
And light and peace departU
My God beholds my heavy woeT
And bears me on his heartU
