Prayer and faith of persecuted saintsC
-
Now plead my cause Almighty GodD
With all the sons of strifeE
And fight against the men of bloodF
Who fight against my lifeE
-
Draw out thy spear and stop their wayG
Lift thine avenging rodD
But to my soul in mercy sayG
I am thy Savior GodD
-
They plant their snares to catch my feetH
And nets of mischief spreadI
Plunge the destroyers in the pitJ
That their own hands have madeK
-
Let fogs and darkness hide their wayG
And slipp'ry be their groundL
Thy wrath shall make their lives a preyG
And all their rage confoundL
-
They fly like chaff before the windM
Before thine angry breathN
The angel of the Lord behindM
Pursues them down to deathN
-
They love the road that leads to hellO
Then let the rebels dieP
Whose malice is implacableQ
Against the Lord on highP
-
But if thou hast a chosen fewR
Amongst that impious raceS
Divide them from the bloody crewR
By thy surprising graceS
-
Then will I raise my tuneful voiceT
To make thy wonders knownU
In their salvation I'll rejoiceT
And bless thee for my ownU
