Deliverance from slander and reproachC
-
My heart rejoices in thy nameD
My God my help my trustE
Thou hast preserved my face from shameD
Mine honor from the dustE
-
My life is spent with grief I criedF
My years consumed in groansG
My strength decays mine eyes are driedF
And sorrow wastes my bonesG
-
Among mine enemies my nameD
Was a mere proverb grownH
While to my neighbors I becameD
Forgotten and unknownH
-
Slander and fear on every sideF
Seized and beset me roundI
I to the throne of grace appliedF
And speedy rescue foundI
-
PAUSEJ
-
How great deliverance thou hast wroughtK
Before the sons of menL
The lying lips to silence broughtK
And made their boastings vainM
-
Thy children from the strife of tonguesN
Shall thy pavilion hideF
Guard them from infamy and wrongsO
And crush the sons of prideF
-
Within thy secret presence LordP
Let me for ever dwellQ
No fenced city walled and barredR
Secures a saint so wellQ
