Psalm 29 Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A BABC DEDE FGFG HIJI KLML NOPO

Storm and thunderA
-
Give to the Lord ye sons of fameB
Give to he Lord renown and powerA
Ascribe due honors to his nameB
And his eternal might adoreC
-
The Lord proclaims his power aloudD
Over the ocean and the landE
His voice divides the wat'ry cloudD
And lightnings blaze at his commandE
-
He speaks and tempest hail and windF
Lay the wide forest bare aroundG
The fearful hart and frighted hindF
Leap at the terror of the soundG
-
To Lebanon he turns his voiceH
And lo the stately cedars breakI
The mountains tremble at the noiseJ
The valleys roar the deserts quakeI
-
The Lord sits sovereign on the floodK
The Thund'rer reigns for ever kingL
But makes his church his blest abodeM
Where we his awful glories singL
-
In gentler language there the LordN
The counsels of his grace impartsO
Amidst the raging storm his wordP
Speaks peace and courage to our heartsO
