Rhyme Scheme: ABC DEDE ADAD FEGE HEHE IJIC

C MB
Prayer and hopeC
-
Soon as I heard my Father sayD
quot Ye children seek my grace quotE
My heart replied without delayD
quot I'll seek my Father's face quotE
-
Let not thy face be hid from meA
Nor frown my soul awayD
God of my life I fly to theeA
In a distressing dayD
-
Should friends and kindred near and dearF
Leave me to want or dieE
My God would make my life his careG
And all my need supplyE
-
My fainting flesh had died with griefH
Had not my soul believedE
To see thy grace provide reliefH
Nor was my hope deceivedE
-
Wait on the Lord ye trembling saintsI
And keep your courage upJ
He'll raise your spirit when it faintsI
And far exceed your hopeC
