Psalm 23 Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A BCAC DEDE FGFH IJIK HLHL MNMN OEOP BHAH

God our shepherdA
-
My Shepherd is the living LordB
Now shall my wants be well suppliedC
His providence and holy wordA
Become my safety and my guideC
-
In pastures where salvation growsD
He makes me feed he makes me restE
There living water gently flowsD
And all the food's divinely blestE
-
My wand'ring feet his ways mistakeF
But he restores my soul to peaceG
And leads me for his mercy's sakeF
In the fair paths of righteousnessH
-
Though I walk through the gloomy valeI
Where death and all its terrors areJ
My heart and hope shall never failI
For God my Shepherd's with me thereK
-
Amidst the darkness and the deepsH
Thou art my comfort thou my stayL
Thy staff supports my feeble stepsH
Thy rod directs my doubtful wayL
-
The sons of earth and sons of hellM
Gaze at thy goodness and repineN
To see my table spread so wellM
With living bread and cheerful wineN
-
How I rejoice when on my headO
Thy Spirit condescends to restE
'Tis a divine anointing shedO
Like oil of gladness at a feastP
-
Surely the mercies of the LordB
Attend his household all their daysH
There will I dwell to hear his wordA
To seek his face and sing his praiseH
