Christ dying rising interceding and reigningA
-
Acts etcB
-
Maker and sovereign LordC
Of heav'n and earth and seasD
Thy providence confirms thy wordE
And answers thy decreesD
-
The things so long foretoldF
By David are fulfilledG
When Jews and Gentiles joined to slayH
Jesus thine holy childI
-
Why did the Gentiles rageJ
And Jews with one accordC
Bend all their counsels to destroyK
Th' Anointed of the LordC
-
Rulers and kings agreeL
To form a vain designM
Against the Lord their powers uniteN
Against his Christ they joinO
-
The Lord derides their rageJ
And will support his throneP
He that hath raised him from the deadQ
Hath owned him for his SonR
-
PAUSES
-
Now he's ascended highT
And asks to rule the earthU
The merit of his blood he pleadsV
And pleads his heav'nly birthU
-
He asks and God bestowsW
A large inheritanceX
Far as the world's remotest endsY
His kingdom shall advanceZ
-
The nations that rebelA2
Must feel his iron rodB2
He'll vindicate those honors wellC2
Which he received from GodB2
-
Be wise ye rulers nowD2
And worship at his throneP
With trembling joy ye people bowD2
To God's exalted SonR
-
If once his wrath ariseE2
Ye perish on the placeF2
Then blessed is the soul that fliesE2
For refuge to his graceF2
