Psalm 19 Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A BCDC EFGH IJHJ KLKL MEME NLLL

The books of nature and of Scripture comparedA
-
THE heav'ns declare thy glory LordB
In every star thy wisdom shinesC
But when our eyes behold thy wordD
We read thy name in fairer linesC
-
The rolling sun the changing lightE
And nights and days thy power confessF
But the blest volume thou hast writG
Reveals thy justice and thy graceH
-
Sun moon and stars convey thy praiseI
Round the whole earth and never standJ
So when thy truth begun its raceH
It touched and glanced on every landJ
-
Nor shall thy spreading gospel restK
Till through the world thy truth has runL
Till Christ has all the nations blestK
That see the light or feel the sunL
-
Great Sun of Righteousness ariseM
Bless the dark world with heav'nly lightE
Thy gospel makes the simple wiseM
Thy laws are pure thy judgments rightE
-
Thy noblest wonders here we viewN
In souls renewed and sins forgiv'nL
Lord cleanse my sins my soul renewL
And make thy word my guide to heavenL
