Sincerity proved and rewardedC
-
Lord thou hast seen my soul sincereD
Hast made thy truth and love appearD
Before mine eyes I set thy lawsE
And thou hast owned my righteous causeF
-
Since I have learned thy holy waysG
I've walked upright before thy faceH
Or if my feet did e'er departI
'Twas never with a wicked heartI
-
What sore temptations broke my restJ
What wars and strugglings in my breastJ
But through thy grace that reigns withinK
I guard against my darling sinK
-
That sin which close besets me stillL
That works and strives against my willL
When shall thy Spirit's sovereign powerM
Destroy it that it rise no moreN
-
With an impartial hand the LordO
Deals out to mortals their rewardO
The kind and faithful souls shall findP
A God as faithful and as kindP
-
The just and pure shall ever sayQ
Thou art more pure more just than theyQ
And men that love revenge shall knowR
God hath an arm of vengeance tooS
