Psalm 147 Part 2 Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AB CDEE FFGG EEEE HHII EEEE JJKL

Summer and winterA
A Song for Great BritainB
-
O Britain praise thy mighty GodC
And make his honors known abroadD
He bid the ocean round thee flowE
Not bars of brass could guard thee soE
-
Thy children are secure and blestF
Thy shores have peace thy cities restF
He feeds thy sons with finest wheatG
And adds his blessing to their meatG
-
Thy changing seasons he ordainsE
Thine early and thy latter rainsE
His flakes of snow like wool he sendsE
And thus the springing corn defendsE
-
With hoary frost he strews the groundH
His hail descends with clatt'ring soundH
Where is the man so vainly boldI
That dares defy his dreadful coldI
-
He bids the southern breezes blowE
The ice dissolves the waters flowE
But he hath nobler works and waysE
To call the Britons to his praiseE
-
To all the isle his laws are shownJ
His gospel through the nation knownJ
He hath not thus revealed his wordK
To every land praise ye the LordL
