Rhyme Scheme: A BCDE FGHH IIJJ KKLL MNOO PPQR SSTT

Praise to God for his goodness and truthA
-
Praise ye the Lord my heart shall joinB
In work so pleasant so divineC
Now while the flesh is mine abodeD
And when my soul ascends to GodE
-
Praise shall employ my noblest powersF
While immortality enduresG
My days of praise shall ne'er be pastH
While life and thought and being lastH
-
Why should I make a man my trustI
Princes must die and turn to dustI
Their breath departs their pomp and powerJ
And thoughts all vanish in an hourJ
-
Happy the man whose hopes relyK
On Isr'el's God he made the skyK
And earth and seas with all their trainL
And none shall find his promise vainL
-
His truth for ever stands secureM
He saves th' oppressed he feeds the poorN
He sends the lab'ring conscience peaceO
And grants the pris'ner sweet releaseO
-
The Lord hath eyes to give the blindP
The Lord supports the sinking mindP
He helps the stranger in distressQ
The widow and the fatherlessR
-
He loves his saints he knows them wellS
But turns the wicked down to hellS
Thy God O Zion ever reignsT
Praise him in everlasting strainsT
