Psalm 142 Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A BCBC DEDE FGFB FHFI JKJK LMLM

God is the hope of the helplessA
-
To God I made my sorrows knownB
From God I sought reliefC
In long complaints before his throneB
I poured out all my griefC
-
My soul was overwhelmed with woesD
My heart began to breakE
My God who all my burden knowsD
He knows the way I takeE
-
On every side I cast mine eyeF
And found my helpers goneG
While friends and strangers passed me byF
Neglected or unknownB
-
Then did I raise a louder cryF
And called thy mercy nearH
Thou art my portion when I dieF
Be thou my refuge hereI
-
Lord I am brought exceeding lowJ
Now let thine ear attendK
And make my foes who vex me knowJ
I've an almighty FriendK
-
From my sad prison set me freeL
Then shall I praise thy nameM
And holy men shall join with meL
Thy kindness to proclaimM
