Psalm 14 Part 1 Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A BCDE CFGF HIJI BKLK MNMN OGOG

By Nature all men are sinnersA
-
Fools in their heart believe and sayB
That all religion's vainC
There is no God that reigns on highD
Or minds th' affairs of menE
-
From thoughts so dreadful and profaneC
Corrupt discourse proceedsF
And in their impious hands are foundG
Abominable deedsF
-
The Lord from his celestial throneH
Looked down on things belowI
To find the man that sought his graceJ
Or did his justice knowI
-
By nature all are gone astrayB
Their practice all the sameK
There's none that fears his Maker's handL
There's none that loves his nameK
-
Their tongues are used to speak deceitM
Their slanders never ceaseN
How swift to mischief are their feetM
Nor know the paths of peaceN
-
Such seeds of sin that bitter rootO
In every heart are foundG
Nor can they bear diviner fruitO
Till grace refine the groundG
