Psalm 118 Part 3 Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABC DEFE GHIH JKLK MNON

vA
C MB
Christ the foundation of his churchC
-
Behold the sure foundation stoneD
Which God in Zion laysE
To build our heav'nly hopes uponF
And his eternal praiseE
-
Chosen of God to sinners dearG
And saints adore the nameH
They trust their whole salvation hereI
Nor shall they suffer shameH
-
The foolish builders scribe and priestJ
Reject it with disdainK
Yet on this Rock the church shall restL
And envy rage in vainK
-
What though the gates of hell withstoodM
Yet must this building riseN
'Tis thy own work almighty GodO
And wondrous in our eyesN
