Rhyme Scheme: A BCBC DEDF GHGH IGJG KLKL MNMN

Christ's kingdom and priesthoodA
-
Jesus our Lord ascend thy throneB
And near the Father sitC
In Zion shall thy power be knownB
And make thy foes submitC
-
What wonders shall thy gospel doD
Thy converts shall surpassE
The num'rous drops of morning dewD
And own thy sovereign graceF
-
God hath pronounced a firm decreeG
Nor changes what he sworeH
Eternal shall thy priesthood beG
When Aaron is no moreH
-
Melchizedek that wondrous priestI
That king of high degreeG
That holy man who Abraham blessedJ
Was but a type of theeG
-
Jesus our Priest for ever livesK
To plead for us aboveL
Jesus our King for ever givesK
The blessings of his loveL
-
God shall exalt his glorious headM
And his high throne maintainN
Shall strike the powers and princes deadM
Who dare oppose his reignN
