Psalm 107 Part 4 Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A BCDE FFGG HHII JJKK LLMM NNOO

Deliverance from storms and shipwreck or The seaman's songA
-
Would you behold the works of GodB
His wonders in the world abroadC
Go with the mariners and traceD
The unknown regions of the seasE
-
They leave their native shores behindF
And seize the favor of the windF
Till God command and tempests riseG
That heave the ocean to the skiesG
-
Now to the heav'ns they mount amainH
Now sink to dreadful deeps againH
What strange affrights young sailors feelI
And like a stagg'ring drunkard reelI
-
When land is far and death is nighJ
Lost to all hope to God they cryJ
His mercy hears the loud addressK
And sends salvation in distressK
-
He bids the winds their wrath assuageL
The furious waves forget their rageL
'Tis calm and sailors smile to seeM
The haven where they wished to beM
-
O may the sons of men recordN
The wondrous goodness of the LordN
Let them their private off'rings bringO
And in the church his glory singO
