Blessing God for his goodness to soul and bodyA
-
Bless O my soul the living GodC
Call home thy thoughts that rove abroadD
Let all the powers within me joinE
In work and worship so divineF
-
Bless O my soul the God of graceG
His favors claim thy highest praiseH
Why should the wonders he hath wroughtI
Be lost in silence and forgotJ
-
'Tis he my soul that sent his SonK
To die for crimes which thou hast doneK
He owns the ransom and forgivesL
The hourly follies of our livesL
-
The vices of the mind he healsM
And cures the pains that nature feelsM
Redeems the soul from hell and savesN
Our wasting life from threat'ning gravesN
-
Our youth decayed his power repairsO
His mercy crowns our growing yearsP
He satisfies our mouth with goodQ
And fills our hopes with heav'nly foodR
-
He sees th' oppressor and th' oppressedS
And often gives the suff'rers restS
But will his justice more displayT
In the last great rewarding dayT
-
His power he showed by Moses' handsU
And gave to Isr'el his commandsU
But sent his truth and mercy downV
To all the nations by his SonK
-
Let the whole earth his power confessW
Let the whole earth adore his graceG
The Gentile with the Jew shall joinE
In work and worship so divineF
