Man's mortality and Christ's eternityA
-
It is the Lord our Savior's handC
Weakens our strength amidst the raceD
Disease and death at his commandC
Arrest us and cut short our daysE
-
Spare us O Lord aloud we prayF
Nor let our sun go down at noonG
Thy years are one eternal dayF
And must thy children die so soonG
-
Yet in the midst of death and griefH
This thought our sorrow should assuageI
Our Father and our Savior liveJ
Christ is the same through every ageI
-
'Twas he this earth's foundation laidK
Heav'n is the building of his handC
This earth grows old these heav'ns shall fadeK
And all be changed at his commandC
-
The starry curtains of the skyL
Like garments shall be laid asideM
But still thy throne stands firm on highL
Thy church for ever must abideM
-
Before thy face thy church shall liveJ
And on thy throne thy children reignN
This dying world shall they surviveJ
And the dead saints be raised againO
