Prayer heard and Zion restoredC
-
Let Zion and her sons rejoiceD
Behold the promised hourE
Her God hath heard her mourning voiceD
And comes t' exalt his powerE
-
Her dust and ruins that remainF
Are precious in our eyesG
Those ruins shall be built againH
And all that dust shall riseG
-
The Lord will raise JerusalemI
And stand in glory thereJ
Nations shall bow before his nameK
And kings attend with fearL
-
He sits a sovereign on his throneM
With pity in his eyesG
He hears the dying pris'ners' groanM
And sees their sighs ariseG
-
He frees the souls condemned to deathN
And when his saints complainF
It shan't be said That praying breathN
Was ever spent in vainF
-
This shall be known when we are deadO
And left on long recordC
That ages yet unborn may readO
And trust and praise the LordC
